Who we are
Shiner Icehouse has been a hometown gathering place since the late 1960s, when it first opened as Laddie’s Place, a true good-timing dive bar. Over the years, it evolved into The Tenth Inning after being purchased by former Astros player turned Major League scout Carrroll Sembera, who brought new life to the space as a sports bar. The bar remained The Tenth Inning through several ownerships (Toni and James Muelker, and Blade Soto) until 2015, when Karen and Justin Fortune reimagined it as Shiners on Sixth. They expanded the space, moved away from the sports bar theme, and helped cement it as a beloved local favorite, even successfully navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, under the ownership of Megan and Titus Dueck, the bar has returned to its roots as Shiner Icehouse: a laid-back, good-timing hometown spot where everyone feels like a regular.
